LaLaLand

Dear diary,, Thur-dayy *o1o312*.

Macchiato March.
Thursday.
Akiane Kramarik.
Started drawing at the age of 4, moved to pastels & paint at age 6.

With her skills she could've been an art teacher at age 8.

John Singer Sargent.
Born on
January 12, 1856; died on April 14th 1925. Amazing painter.
Evidence of his strong talent scattered all over the world. Real life. Texture. A master of his art.
His brush strokes created wonder & his works leave a mark to the audience.

Alyssa Monks.
Born in 1977; Ridgewood, New Jersey. Began oil painting as a child.
You can see the distinct difference between her works as compared to other painters.
Her theme is intimacy & in water & steam. She chases after realism.

One of my favorite painters.

I love art. & I'm thinking of taking up fine arts as an official major.
After I graduate of course. I'm just scared of the fees..
& the competition. & not knowing what lies ahead
But for the 1st time in my life, I know what I want to do & how to go about doing it.

I just have to choose between taking it up full time..
Or taking up just a class if I lack the moolah.
But I really want to go lengths with this & learn as much as I can.
I don't mind starting from ground zero & making my way up. I'll spend my whole life if I have to.

Realism. What I'm chasing after most right now is realism.
What I want to walk forward to..? To know.. how to paint the rain.
I find comfort in being surrounded by paint & pastels & acrylics & canvases. Just a lot of color.
But I wonder.. Van gogh was truly insane. It showed in his work. Maybe somewhere in his heart/mind/body/soul..

He thought..
he'd never be good enough even knowing the things he knew
& praised by the people who knew nothing of.
That kind of recognition might not have been what he was chasing for if the thing he loved..

painting.. did not bring him peace which he thought only death would solve.
